Still looking for the perfect costume? If you’re considering being a lady monster, get some inspiration on Part-Time Monster‘s Monster Mondays, a celebration of social commentary on female monsters.
Diana is one of my blogging buddies I met through David and Holly of Comparative Geeks when they invited me into Feminist Friday. The “Monster Mondays” feature showcases monstrous women in folklore and media. Some are from the folklore of the cultures of diverse group of contributors: Futakuchi Onna in Japan and the Plague Maiden in Poland, for example. Other post are from recent films like Spring or Coraline, or compare folklore to fairy tale to film, or profile authors like Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley.
Whether you’re interested in folklore, commentary, or costume inspiration, check out “Monster Mondays” and Part-Time Monster’s other series here.
Well this is happy-making! Thanks for such an awesome shout-out.
