On my trip to Tokyo in September, I happened to stumble upon a courtyard full of roses and sparkling lights.
Brick Square is tucked into the shopping district of Marunouchi (丸ノ内) in Ginza, Tokyo. It’s very close to the Imperial Theatre (帝国劇場) and Hibiya Park (日比谷公園).
Cliche as it sounds, roses are one of my favorite flowers. I like them bursting with color, especially oranges, yellows, and pinks mixed together or with color gradation on the petals.
In the light of the setting sun and with the roses and the twinkling lights, I felt like I had stumbled into the third music room of Ouran High School or the Jarjeyes estate.
Brick Square is home to a number of classy restaurants and wine bars with open-air dinner if the weather is nice. It’s a charming little courtyard in absolutely lovely part of Tokyo–a great place, along with Hibiya Park, to stop and smell the roses. Literally.
